Monitoring of water systems

Leak risk management and emergency water supply cut off with MCA5tech.

Water monitoring is about managing operational risk and optimizing operating costs. Leaks, damage to fittings, as well as uncontrolled flows can lead to financial losses, technological downtime and damage to technical infrastructure.

The MCA5tech system automates the supervision of water consumption and triggers the expected reaction when anomalies are detected. Integration with any flow meters and actuators (e.g. solenoid valves) allows full monitoring of the water system from a single platform.

The main functions of the MCA5Tech system in the field of water supervision:

  • Real-time monitoring of water consumption
The system takes data from digital or pulsed water meters and processes them continuously and stores them in an internal database. The user gets access to current and archive data via a web interface.
  • Detection of Flow and Leak Anomalies
Analytical algorithms identify unusual wear patterns (e.g., prolonged flow outside of business hours, sudden flow spikes, input-output differences) that may indicate leaks, valve damage or other installation irregularities.
  • Automatic water supply cut-off
In the event that the set alarm thresholds are exceeded or a pattern indicating a leak is detected, the system controls the solenoid valves, allowing the supply to be automatically cut off.
  • History and reporting management
The data collected on the device is available in the form of charts, tables and reports. The user can analyze consumption trends, optimize processes and make decisions based on numerical data.

Implementation goal:

  • Reduce the risk of flooding and failure with early leak detection.
  • Automation of safety procedures (closing valves without human intervention).
  • Possibility of integration with existing technical infrastructure (BMS/SCADA).
  • Operate locally – no need for access to an external network.
  • Compatible with popular data transmission protocols: Modbus, M-Bus
  • Scalability – one device supports multiple measurement points.
